Import Data From Other Apps

You can import existing tasks and data into Streaks using a .csv file.

To create a sample import file, create one or more tasks in Streaks, then export them:

  1. Add a task.
  2. Open the task’s calendar and backdate some completions and misses.
  3. Go to Settings › Manage Data › Export Data.
  4. Select CSV, then Export.

You can now base your import on this file.

The CSV file contains a row for each daily entry, using the following columns:

  • task_id - Leave this blank.
  • title - The title of the task. Each entry for this task should have the same title.
  • icon - The name of the icon. You can leave this blank and set it after importing.
  • entry_type - The type of entry (see below).
  • entry_date - The date of the entry, in YYYYMMDD format. For example, 1 May 2024 is 20240501.
  • entry_timestamp_local - Leave this blank.
  • entry_timezone - Leave this blank.
  • quantity - Leave this blank.
  • page - Leave this blank.
  • notes - Text here is saved as a note for the given date.

Entry Types

Use one of the following values for entry_type:

  • completed_manually - The streak increases by 1.
  • skipped_manually - The streak stays the same as the previous day.
  • missed_manually - The streak resets to 0.

Don’t include more than one entry for the same task on the same date.

Importing Data

Go to Settings › Manage Data › Import Data to import your CSV file. If the imported data doesn’t look right, correct the file and import it again.

After Importing

After importing your tasks, you may need to:

  • Set an icon for each task, if you didn’t include one in the file.
  • Update each task’s frequency. Imported tasks are daily tasks that need completing every day.
  • Convert the task to a health, timed or negative task as needed.
